Lake Manyara National Park is located in Tanzania’s Arusha and Manyara regions. The park offers a truly unique wilderness experience across a range of diverse habitats and wildlife. From its steep mountainside, dense woodlands, and Rift Valley Soda Lake – there is always something interesting to see and experience in the Lake Manyara region.
Lake Manyara National Park is an unspoiled paradise of groundwater forest fed by underground springs and teeming with wildlife such as elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and some of the largest baboon troupes in Africa. It is in Lake Manyara that you find Africa’s largest concentration of elephants. When it comes to spotting elephants in the wild, while on your Tanzania tour you will find few places that can compete with elephants. The setting for the earliest Tarzan films, verdant Lake Manyara National Park was once described as Ernest Hemingway's "The loveliest I have seen in Africa".
Best Time to Visit
It is good to watch wildlife all year long in Lake Manyara National Park but the best time is during the dry season which runs from late June to September. In the high season, the northern section of the park is very crowded especially in the mornings for most of the year that is to say from July to March. April and May describe the low season.
